Evaluation 5

Evaluation 5

After finishing our final version of our film I think we have reached our target audience successfully due to the fact that we have met their demands. Most of our audience decided our film should be certified a 15, therefore we have included the right amount of violence in our film for it to be certified as a 15. We have decided to go with the audiences opinions and not mainly on our own opinion, because when making a film the audiences opinions are the most important to take into consideration. In our production we included suspenseful non-diegetic music to get our audience gripped right from the start of the footage and we have also embedded a news article giving information on our plot so our audience understands further what is going on. We thought this news scene would appeal to the audience the most due to the fact that a vast majority of people watch the news daily and by adding a bulletin this reinforces the seriousness of our films storyline.

When retrieving the audiences feedback on our questionnaires we found that our storyline was “innovating and gripping” as the tense non-diegetic music supports the atmosphere of the film. One other successful way that our video captivated our audience was how “promiscuous” our film was, stated someone from our questionnaire. An example of this is where Boris is getting dragged away at the end and you can see the shadow of a genetic mutation dragging him away in the reflection of the car. However, on the other hand, the audience has said “your continuity needs to be worked on” as our main characters lose some clothing when it comes to the end of the scene. This can be improved for next time by ensuring everyone is wearing the exact same clothes throughout the footage and to take more time to analyse our footage so no mistakes like this happen again.
