Match On Action
a match on action/match cut is a cut from one shot to another where the two shots are matched by the action or subject and subject matter. For example, a character may open a door, when they open the door in a close up, the next shot may be a long shot of the door opening immediately after from the other side. These shots will have been filmed separately, but in editing, were made to look like one continuous series of actions.
This can, once again, be seen in our brilliant short film.
